Spalk is a simple, easy-to-use platform that helps broadcasters, sports leagues and teams deliver multiple commentary options for their live sports broadcasts. We help our customers customise the viewing experience and grow their audience while reducing broadcast production costs.

We’re looking for a talented Product Designer to come and join our team in Parnell, Auckland.

User Experience Designer

This candidate will be responsible for building a clean and effective user experience for our customers. By working cross-functionally, this candidate will understand needs from the product management, engineering, and business stakeholders and will be able to build solutions that fit those needs. 


  • 3+ years experience working as a product design lead (Software as a service)
  • An extraordinary portfolio demonstrating significant previous experience of delivering crafted, consistent and brand aligned digital UI designs for softwares within a complex customer-focused commercial environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, interaction design, or a design related field
  • Graduate diploma or equivalent certificate specialised in interactive design will be a bonus
  • Experience tackling large, complex and systemic pieces of work
  • Experience designing experiences across multiple breakpoints
  • Strong skills from wire-framing and prototyping to visual design and documentation
  • On the tools experience in Sketch/ InVision
  • Strong knowledge in Adobe Suite including illustrator and photoshop
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Must have ability to work in NZ

Job Details

  • Producing high quality user experience design solutions through wireframes, flow diagrams, site maps, and prototypes
  • Developing and conceptualising a comprehensive user interface and experience strategy for Spalk
  • Designing interface elements and tools for the software
  • Collaborating with the marketing and engineering teams to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the customers
  • Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyse and predict user behaviour
